Missile Systems Defending the Nation

Defending the nation is the number one task of the military if any country.

Nations have employed and are employing, many different ways of defending their countries against attacks and invasions.

In recent years, many nations have found ways to do so without leaving their own soil and endangering troops on the ground. They have employed highly sophisticated missile systems.

Defending with Missile Systems

No country should be without missile systems, especially those in the midst of constant war threats. Israel, for example, is under constant threat and has employed many of RAFAEL’s missile systems.

These systems include both long-range and short-range missiles. They are also equipped with navigation systems, as well as advanced imaging systems to provide extreme accuracy. One of these missile types is called SPICE™.

It is a widely used missile, by various nations, as it can be used in GPS-denied arenas. Furthermore, it has the capability of high-strike volumes.

Missile Systems for Defense

One of the best ways for national defense is to employ a wide range of missiles. Some of the missiles available to various countries are:

  • Air-to-ground (AGM), or air-to-surface, missiles – these ones are launched from the air and are aimed at land or sea. These missiles are known for their precision-striking capabilities.
  • Air-to-air missiles – in this instance these missiles would be launched from the air and targeted at enemy aircraft.
  • Surface-to-air missiles – the surface-to-air missiles would be used in conjunction with other defense systems such as the iron dome to prevent any casualties and losses on the ground.
  • Target missiles such as  Sparrow™. These ballistic missiles have maneuverability and can be launched by air as well.

Missile Capabilities

Missile capabilities are important for any nation that wishes to defend its territory. For that reason, they do need to have missile systems in place. As indicated, and expounded above, one type is not always enough. Hence, each country should ensure that they are well equipped in missile defense.
